How Proposals Are Reviewed
The editorial office evaluates each proposal for scope fit, novelty, and feasibility. We assess the proposed editorial team and ensure the theme aligns with the IIIJ mission of cross method translation.
After Approval
Once approved, a call for papers is prepared and shared. Guest editors collaborate with the IIIJ team to invite submissions and manage peer review. The editorial office provides templates and timeline support.
Maintaining Quality
All manuscripts in a special issue undergo the same peer review and editorial standards as regular submissions. Quality, ethics, and transparency remain mandatory for acceptance.
Submission Pathway
Proposals should be sent to the editorial office with a clear subject line and any supporting documents. We aim to acknowledge proposals promptly and provide a decision timeline.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals are evaluated on scientific novelty, feasibility, and the ability to attract high quality submissions. We also consider whether the theme complements existing IIIJ content and advances translational research priorities.
Communication and Updates
The editorial office will provide feedback, request clarifications if needed, and outline the next steps after approval. Guest editors receive guidance on call for papers text and review timelines.
Submission Timing
Submit proposals well in advance of your preferred publication window. This allows time for review, call for papers preparation, and author outreach, helping the special issue meet its timeline. Early planning improves quality.
After Acceptance
Approved special issues are listed on the journal site and shared with the research community. Guest editors coordinate with the editorial office to monitor submissions and keep reviewers on schedule. Clear communication supports timely publication.
Special issues are designed to capture momentum in emerging fields and connect experts across methods. A strong proposal helps us deliver timely, high impact collections.
