Biography
- Anita Maienza obtained her MSc in Environmental Biology at the University La Sapienza of Roma in 2008, discussing a thesis on bioavailability of heavy metals in sediments of a strong anthropized marine ecosystem.
- After MSc, she collaborated withthe University of Baja California to study the genetic of elephant seals and applying state of art techniques of molecular markers. She received her PhD in Forest Ecology from the University of Tuscia in 2012, discussing a thesis on the sustainability of organic fertilization in a Mediterranean Short Rotation Wood crop.
- During her PhD period she started collaboration with Agriculture Research Council, Center for the Soil-Plant System (CRA-RPS) of Rome improving her knowledge of soil biology and the impact of new generations fertilizers in Mediterranean soils. For the scientific relevance of her PhD work she has been awarded from Arvan s.r.l for the best thesis on fertilizers in 2014.
- In 2012, she obtained a funded post-doctoral research fellowship at the CNR Ibimet of Florence, to study the effects of biochar application on N-uptake and leaching in a Solanum lycopersicum crop.
- Her main research areas of interest and expertise .
