Biography
Dr. AbdulMuhsin Shami is an Assistant Professor at the University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, specializing in microbiology, biotechnology, and bioactive compounds. He received his PhD from the University of Malaya. His research focuses on the extraction, isolation, and identification of bioactive compounds from plants, including alkaloids, anthraquinones, diterpenes, peptides, and polysaccharides, with particular emphasis on their antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Dr. Shami has extensively investigated species such as Morinda citrifolia and Annona squamosa, employing advanced analytical techniques including GC-MS and LC-MS to characterize bioactive constituents and evaluate their therapeutic potential against pathogenic bacteria.
