Peripheral Cemento Ossifying Fibroma – A Case Report
Abstract:
Cemento-ossifying fibroma is is a reactive lesion arising from the soft tissues (gingiva). A 13-year-old boy presented with the complaint of lump in mandibular right posterior region on the lingual side since a month. The patient presented no symptoms and had no medical history of interest. The lesion was excised and submitted for histopathological evaluation, which gave a diagnosis of peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma. Oral Ellis-Van Creveld Syndrome: A Brief Review of Literature and A Case Report
Abstract:
EVC syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive genetic syndrome which its exact prevalence is unknown. The main manifestations of EVC include condro-ectodermal dysplasia, polydactyly, congenital heart defects and tooth and nail hypoplasia, and the survival rate of patients depends on the heart disease. EVC should be differentiated from other chondrodystrophia such as Achondroplasia and Jeune syndrome. Few cases of this syndrome have been reported in dental literature. This article is a brief review about the main orofacial features of EVC and reported all Prosthodontics and Restorative treatment of a 7-year-old girl that was born in prone family to EVC and presenting typical features of this syndrome.

A Longitudinal Intervention Study to Reduce Aggression by Children Ages 4-11
Abstract:
Our objective was the early identification, assessment and treatment of aggression by primary school children four to eleven years old, with the goal of preventing school expulsion. The children were identified by teachers and other professionals for their aggressive behavior. Children were assessed for five symptoms which are linked to the development and persistence of social and/or physical aggressive behaviors: inattention, hyperactivity, anxiety, poor social functioning, and oppositional behavior. Long term follow-up continued for up to 9 years. Conners’ Scales for parents and teachers were used to assess the severity of predisposing symptoms and emotional lability. The children were treated with psychosocial and pharmacological interventions by social workers and a physician, in addition to utilizing community and school resources. Correlates of Mental Health in Survivors of Colorectal Cancer: The Influence of Individual, Family, and Community Level Factors
Abstract:
An often neglected factor in the examination of the mental quality of life of survivors of colorectal cancer is the role of family and community level resources and support. The aim of this study was to develop a deeper understanding of the influence of family and community level resources over and above previously examined mental health variables. A survey-based pilot study was conducted with 101 colorectal cancer survivors. Four multiple linear regression models were developed to examine the associations between demographic, health-related, individual psychosocial, family and community level factors, and specific dimensions of mental quality of life (measured using the mental health subscales of the SF-12). Influences of Australian nursing students’ anxiety, depression, personality and family interaction on their psychological well-being and suicidal ideation

To examine the relationships between Australian nursing students’ anxiety, depression, personality and family interaction with psychological well-being and suicidal ideation. A sample of 201 nursing students completed a series of structured questionnaires in an Australian University. A cross-sectional descriptive research design was used. After explanation of this study, 201 nursing students voluntarily participated. Six reliable and structured questionnaires were used to do data collection. SPSS was used for data analysis including descriptive data, Pearson Correlation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression. Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening by Fecal Immunohistochemical Testing (FIT) followed by colonoscopy reduces colorectal cancer mortality. Barriers to colonoscopy should be minimised. In Vitro Cytoprotection of Resveratrol against H2O2-Induced Oxidative Stress and Injury in Astrocytes
Abstract:
Oxidative stress mediated neural cell death is thought to be involved in the progression of secondary cell injury following brain trauma. Agents that can block oxidative stress-related injury could be potential therapies for TBI. Resveratrol, a polyphenol found in plants and red wine, is cytoprotective due to its potent antioxidant activities. To further understand how resveratrol could affect oxidative stress-induced injury, we hypothesized that the cytoprotective activities of resveratrol could be dose-dependent. In this study, resveratrol-induced cytoprotection was evaluated in cultured astrocytes. Primary rat astrocytes were cultured in T-75 flasks to a confluence of 80% before being plated onto 96-well plates.
