Biography
Adriano Stinca, PhD, is a botanist and agronomist at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli with research interests spanning agriculture, floristic analyses, vegetation science, and biodiversity assessment. His research mission focuses on understanding the patterns and processes of species assembly in relation to spatial and temporal scales, improving methods for assessing species diversity, and transferring such knowledge to management and conservation policies. He has authored over 85 indexed publications, including the highly influential "An updated checklist of the vascular flora native to Italy" (2018), which has been cited more than 516 times. His work encompasses diverse topics such as plant invasions on Mediterranean islands, ethnobotanical studies, conservation of endemic species type localities, and documentation of alien and rediscovered species in southern Italy.
