Primate Psychology

Primate psychology is the study of behavior, cognition, and physiology in non-human primates, such as monkeys and apes. This field of study has great significance in understanding our own species’s evolution, behavior, and learning abilities. Through primate psychology, researchers have gained insight into primates’ social structure, communication, problem-solving, and cognitive development. This research is crucial to our understanding of the origins and evolution of human behavior and cognition. Primate psychology is also used to inform conservation and welfare of primates, by providing essential knowledge on their behavior and needs.
