Biography
Riccardo Casadei is an Associate Professor at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, where he also completed his education. His clinical expertise centers on hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery, with specialized training acquired through fellowships at leading European and international institutions, including the University of Ulm (1996), University of Genova (2001), University of Strasbourg (2001–2002), University of Rome (2003), and the University of Nagoya, Japan (2000), as well as advanced certification in robotic hepato-bilio-pancreatic surgery (2015). His research contributions have significantly influenced contemporary surgical practice, most notably through his widely cited work on indications for upfront total pancreatectomy published in 2021. His scholarly focus encompasses advanced techniques in pancreatic, hepatic, and biliary surgery, including minimally invasive and robotic approaches to complex abdominal procedures.
