Urinary Tract Infection
A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an infection of the urinary tract, which consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. UTIs are typically caused by bacteria that enter the body through the urethra and migrate to the bladder. Symptoms of a UTI may include pain or burning during urination, an increased urge to urinate, or cloudy, dark or foul-smelling urine. UTIs can be painful and can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. Treatment typically consists of antibiotics or other medications to clear the infection. Early detection and prompt treatment are key to minimizing the risk of long-term complications.
