Neonatal transfusion is a procedure in which blood components or other medical products, such as antibodies or antigens, are transferred to a newborn infant. This process is important for ensuring adequate health and nutrition of the newborn, as well as providing protection from various infectious diseases. Neonatal transfusion is used to treat a variety of disorders and conditions, including anemia, immune deficiencies, thrombocytopenia, and hemolytic disease of the newborn. It is also used as a source of stem cells for stem cell transplantation or for the correction of genetic disorders.
