Vascular Dementia

Vascular Dementia is a broad term used to describe a type of dementia caused by brain damage resulting from impaired blood flow to the brain. It is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer's Disease and affects memory, language, thinking, and behavior. Symptoms can include confusion, impaired memory, difficulty in problem solving, judgment problems, trouble understanding conversation, and difficulty making decisions. Treatment often includes medications, lifestyle changes, and cognitive and behavioral therapies. With early intervention and proper management, many people with vascular dementia can lead active and meaningful lives.
