Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis is a medical treatment used to remove excess fluid and toxins from the body when the kidneys are unable to do so. It is a vital treatment for end-stage kidney disease and is used to reduce the symptoms of this condition such as edema, hypertension, and anemia. Hemodialysis involves using a special machine to filter the blood, removing the toxins and fluids. The cleaned blood is then returned back to the body. The procedure usually takes three to four hours and needs to be done several times a week. Hemodialysis is a life-saving treatment and can drastically improve the quality of life for those with kidney failure.
