Vagus Nerve Stimulation

Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) is a non-invasive neurostimulation technique used in the treatment of neurological diseases. The vagus nerve is the longest of the 12 cranial nerves, and it runs from the brain to the abdomen. VNS involves the application of electrical stimulation to the vagus nerve as a way of regulating brain activity. It is used in treating epilepsy, depression, and other disorders of the brain. By targeting specific areas of the brain, VNS can be used to reduce seizure activity, improve mood, and increase cognitive functioning. VNS has been shown to be effective in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Furthermore, VNS can also be used to help individuals with heart failure and other chronic diseases. VNS is an evidence-based treatment option with a good track record of efficacy and safety, making it an attractive option for patients suffering from neurological conditions.
