Biography
Dr. Daniel Castillo serves as Head of MSAT at PhageLab in Santiago, Chile, where his research focuses on genomics, microbiology, phages, phage therapy, and virulence. He earned his PhD from the University of Santiago Chile and has made significant contributions to understanding bacteriophage diversity and pathogenicity in aquatic systems. His most-cited work, "Large Phenotypic and Genetic Diversity of Prophages Induced from the Fish Pathogen Vibrio anguillarum" (2019), has been cited 26 times and exemplifies his expertise in characterizing prophage populations and their roles in bacterial virulence. His research advances the application of phage-based approaches to combat bacterial pathogens in clinical and environmental contexts.
