Biography
Yicheng Long, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Chevy Chase, MD, United States. He earned his BSc from Tsinghua University and his PhD from Ohio State University. Dr. Long's research focuses on RNA biology, with particular emphasis on tRNA editing mechanisms, 3′-5′ RNA polymerases, and mitochondrial RNA processing. His work has contributed to the identification of distinct biological functions for RNA-modifying enzymes and the characterization of tRNA editing pathways in various organisms, including studies on guanylyltransferase-like proteins and their roles in mitochondrial gene expression.
