Tumours of Bone

Tumours of bone, often referred to as bone cancers, are abnormal growths of cells that occur within the bones and can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). These can potentially cause pain, weakness and an inability to move the affected limb. Treatment often consists of surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or a combination of these methods. Early diagnosis is important for proper treatment and outcome and can improve the overall prognosis. Tumours of bone can be a significant and debilitating health concern, but with the proper medical care, can be effectively managed.
