Sports Science

Sports Science is an interdisciplinary field that seeks to understand the physical, physiological and psychological factors of improved physical performance in sport. It is a combination of sports medicine, biology, biomechanics, nutrition, physics and psychology. This knowledge is used to improve the performance of athletes and their health, both in training and in competition. It is also used to create effective injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes to enhance the health of current and retired athletes. Sports Science has become an essential part of coaching, helping coaches to create more effective and successful sports programmes.
