Multilobular Tumour of Bone

A multilobular tumour of bone is a rare type of benign bone tumour. It is generally found in the long bones, but can also occur in the shoulder, wrist, clavicle, and ribs. These tumours are characterized by a number of separate, well-defined bony lobes or masses, which are usually surrounded by a thin layer of fibrous tissue. This type of tumour can cause pain, swelling and deformity due to their enlargement of the bone, but it is not cancerous and generally does not spread to other parts of the body. Treatment of multilobular tumour of bone may include surgical removal, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. In some cases, hormone therapy may also be required. With early diagnosis and proper treatment, the prognosis for this condition is generally good.
