Iodometric Determination of Neutral Amino Acids Using Potassium Iodate

Abstract:

In this work, we have reported a simple, cost effective and reliable method for the determination of neutral α-amino acids iodometrically by making use of potassium iodate. This volumetric method determines amino acids instantly, thereby greatly reduces the time of determination.

Clinical Use of Peptide-Based Formula (Peptamen Junior®, Nestle) in the Paediatric Population

Abstract:

There is limited published data describing the characteristics of the paediatric population prescribed semi elemental formulas. This retrospective observational audit aimed to describe the characteristics of the paediatric patients who have been prescribed a hydrolysed whey protein, medium chain triglycerides (MCT) based formula, Peptamen Junior® and the nutritional outcomes.

Removal of Neutral Red from Aqueous solutions usingSr2CaBO5.5 (B= Nb+5& Ta+5)

Abstract:

Two samples of the defectdouble perovskites with general formula Sr₂CaNbO_5.5 and Sr₂CaTaO_5.5 were synthesized and their cap abilities in the removal of neutral red dye investigated. Both samples have faced cubic perovskite-type structure in space group Fm3m. The replacement of Nb⁵⁺ by Ta⁵⁺ has influenced both crystal size and density of the two oxides but showed no impact on the removal capacities. The crystallite size of Sr₂CaNbO_5.5 and Sr₂CaTaO_5.5 was determined to be 93.56 and 43.69 nm respectively. The maximum removal capacities of Neutral red are found to be 190.5 mg/g using both the two oxides. This result is consistent with the cell volumes which displayed similar values. The removal of Neutral Red has a negative relationship with temperature but steadily increases as pH increased.

Inferior Turbinate Surgery: Difficulties Between the Decision-Making and the Selection of Proper Technique

Abstract:

The inferior conchae have important role in the maintenance of nasal airflow via providing the nasal valve mechanism but increase of inferior turbinate bulk may result in significant nasal obstruction. Therefore, this may need further surgical intervention to deal with these bulky conchae but it is very necessary to balance between the mechanical as well as the functional patency of the nose. Thus, through this surgery it become difficult to decide whether the patient is a candidate for surgery and which technique is suitable for that particular patient.

An Uncommon Complication of Multiple Myeloma in a Post Bone Marrow Transplant patient–Plasma Cell Pleocytosis

This case report describes plasma cell pleocytosis occurring after bone marrow transplantation for multiple myeloma. The authors outline clinical presentation, cerebrospinal fluid findings, and differential diagnosis, emphasizing the need to consider hematologic relapse or CNS involvement in post‑transplant patients with neurologic symptoms.
