Bacteria

Bacteria are microscopic, single-celled organisms. They are significant because they play a key role in many biological processes, such as decomposition, and are useful in a range of applications, from medical treatments to food production. Bacteria can also be used in biotechnology, where they can be genetically modified to produce desired compounds, such as drugs and other pharmaceuticals. In addition, bacteria are important to agriculture, as they are essential for soil fertility and nitrogen fixation, and are essential components of the global food web.
