Economic Botany

Economic botany is the study of the ways in which plants and plant products are used by people. It looks at the relationships between plants and how they are used to satisfy human needs in areas such as food, medicine, fuel, clothing, shelter, and more. It is an interdisciplinary field that combines knowledge of botany (the study of plants) and economics. Economic botany helps us understand the cultural, economic, and ecological importance of plants, and how plant products can be used to improve our lives. By understanding economic botany, we can better use plants to meet our current needs and goals.
