Malnutrition

Malnutrition is a global health issue, which is defined as an inadequate consumption of nutrients, leading to an imbalance that can result either in obesity or undernutrition. It can occur due to either a lack of food or an inability to absorb the necessary nutrients from the food that is consumed. Malnutrition is a major factor in a number of health issues, including physical and cognitive development issues, increased susceptibility to infections and illnesses, and even death. It is especially prevalent in poorer countries and in those affected by conflict and displacement. Improving access to food and nutrition education is essential to combatting malnutrition. In addition, other strategies, such as fortifying existing foods and creating more nutritious options, are important tools in the fight against this public health hazard.
